Energy Performance Certificates for Domestic Properties

Any Domestic Property built, rented or sold requires an Energy Performance Certificate; this is now the law with effect from October 2008. The certificate provides information on how energy efficient a dwelling is as a habitable structure and these results are provided in an A-G rating.
So whether you are renting or selling an existing dwelling an EPC will be needed. This is where Electrical Estimates can help; we guarantee a local domestic energy assessor with a fast turnaround and a formal quotation prior to commencement of works. Contact us now at energy@electricalestimates.co.uk with your requirements.
For clients with a portfolio of properties we offer preferential rates.
How an EPC works...
EPCs are produced with government approved software along with calculations which use standard methods and assumptions about energy usage, so that the energy efficiency of one dwelling can be easily be compared with another dwelling of the same type. Tenants, owners, occupiers and purchasers can see information on the energy efficiency and carbon emissions from their building so they can consider energy efficiency and fuel costs as part of their investment.
When your property is surveyed, we will produce a report giving recommendations on any energy efficiency measures which are appropriate for your dwelling. The Energy Assessor will go through these points with you.
Almost 50 per cent of the UK's energy consumption and carbon emissions arise from the way our buildings are lit, heated and used. So even minor changes in energy performance and the way we use each building will have a significant effect in reducing energy consumption.
EPC's at Electrical Estimates are produced by an accredited energy assessor.
